My actual 30th birthday!

So I awoke the morning of my birthday in a strange bed in the Hunter (with Sarah instead of Ian!), and had a quick wine shopping trip before speeding back down the highway to Manly. Got back to lots of pressies, cards and a birthday cake courtesy of Ian! More brownie points!

That evening we all went out to '360 degrees', which is a restaurant at the top of slowly. That of course means that it has a fantastic view, but even better it slowly revolves, hence the name. We used our newly gained status as wine experts to impress the sommelier with our superb wine choices (at least in our own heads!!)

Adventures in the Hunter

So after calming down after Sue and Sarah's arrival, Ian announced that he had planned for the 3 of us to go away somewhere, and presented us with a selection of holiday brochures. As we only had a couple of days, we kept it fairly local and chose the Hunter Valley. For those who don't know, it's an area about 2 hours north of Sydney that is renowned for it's wine production.

So off we went on a little adventure, sample a few local wines (when in Rome and all that) and even going to wine school (hence the funny hats). The trip conicided with Sue's birthday so she got to celebrate the last one in her 20's (sorry hun) in style.

Laura's 30th Birthday

So after months of Ian convincing me that he whisking me away for my 30th, it was a little bit of surprise to have Sue & Sarah arrive on my doorstep late one Saturday night. Ian had fabricated some story about having to go into work when actually he was at the airport.
A very surreal experience! We all agreed that it felt like we just seen each other last week, even though it had been over a year.
