A Walk in the Bush

After the surviving the shark diving, what was needed was a bit of a walk around Kuringai Chase National Park. We initially had grand plans for a 3 hour hike to go see some aboriginal cave paitings - when we finally got our arses out of bed, it turned into an hour and a half. The park is huge and about 30 minutes north of us, with views out to the pacific. Saw our first wild wallaby, and by odd coincidence, bumped into one of our old neighbours! Small world.

Swimming with sharks

I'm trying not to take Laura's choice of birthday present as a hint - a morning of swimming with sharks in Manly Aquarium, followed by a session taking part in their feeding frenzy. I was certainly hoping they hadn't developed a taste for English people! Thanks to the cold sea temperatures still being chilly, the sharks were pretty dozy, but the stingrays were fairly frenzied! Luckily I managed to suvive with all body parts intact!

Bye bye John and Donna

Two of our best friends in Sydney decided that it was time to move to pastures new, and left for the Sunshine Coast (north of Brisbane) last week. After staying with us for a few days they embarked on the 1000km + trip up north in a 15year old Ford Falcon (Falcon Power!).

In usual tradition, just before they went - It was beer time. Started off as "going for a meal" swiftly changing to "a meal and beer" when we got into Manly, and ended up as beer - with bar snacks.

John and Donna, we will miss you! Look forward to seeing us crash at your place soon!
